Mr. Srinivasan is the President
of Calimur LLC, an IT and Digital Media
consultancy serving the nation's onshore oil
and gas industry. He is also the CEO of the
National Foundation for Veteran Redeployment, a
nonprofit organization established to offer oil
and gas careers to unemployed military
veterans. From July 2009 through July 2010,
then-Lieutenant Srinivasan served as a platoon
leader in Attack Company, 2-1 Infantry of 5/2
Stryker Brigade Combat Team. There he organized
$100k in irrigation and development projects
and managed a construction budget of almost $1
million. Mr. Srinivasan did this in addition to
his combat role, where he led his platoon on
over 300 combat patrols in the Kandahar
province. For his service, Mr. Srinivasan was
awarded the Bronze Star, 2 Army Commendation
Medals, and the Combat Action
Badge.
Mr. Srinivasan has served as an admissions officer at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he worked with underrepresented minority applicants. He is a frequent contributor to TIME Magazine, the New York Times At War series, and PBS's Regarding War series, commenting on defense and veterans affairs issues. He also serves as a spokesperson for the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. In 2011, Mr. Srinivasan was awarded the MK Gandhi Pride of the Community award for his leadership in the Hindu-American community. He is a graduate of West Point Military Academy, where he double majored in Arabic and Comparative Politics.
