The NVDBC is pleased to welcome back Cong. James P. Moran, Jr. to our September meeting.  Since first being elected Congressman in 1990, Congressman Moran has aggressively represented the interests of the constitutents of the Eighth Congressional District, federal workers throughout the D.C. Metro Area, and the Northern Virginia business community.

Ever since the Base Realignment and Closure Commission has proposed the relocation of over 18,000 jobs in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area to Fort Belvoir in Maryland many questions have been asked.

- Will this actually happen or did the BRAC exceed its statutory authority?
- Is the commission biased against leased space?
- What will the impact be on the government workers?
- What will the impact be on government contractors and the Northern Virginia business community?
- What will the impact be on Northern Virginia's Metro, roads, schools, and development patterns?
- How could this impact the jurisdictions losing workers?
-  How much will the federal government be assisting with these impacts?
