A recent Richmond Times-Dispatch
article notes that the Democratic Party is
poised to pick up several House of Delegates
seats this Fall. A recent Washington Post
article states that polls show challengers
within striking distance.
That is not surprising given some of the proposals of the opponents of our speakers.
- Sell off tracts of public parklands to developers pay for schools (Del. David Albo) (Greg Werkheiser)
- Injecting social issues into our public schools (Chris Craddock (Caputo) (note language regarding "empower parents, not bureaucrats");
Many of our opponents sites read like cookie-cutter knock offs of each other. For example, check out:
- Tying local government hands by capping real estate tax increases (Chris Craddock (Caputo)/Michael Golden (Marsden))/John Mason (Bulova)/Chris Gregerson (Englin)/Jeff Fredericks (Barg))
- Promising to bring back "a fair share" of revenue to Northern Virginia Chris Craddock (Caputo)/Michael Golden (Marsden))/John Mason (Bulova)/Chris Gregerson (Englin)/Jeff Fredericks (Barg));
- Promising to spend state resouces on "cracking down illegal immigrants" (Michael Golden (Marsden)/Del. David Albo) (Greg Werkheiser)/Jeff Fredericks (Barg))
Alternatively, other Republican opponents arely solely focused upon issues that have little salience to the business community such as:
- "family values," abortion, internet pornography, gay adoptions, and portrayals of gay relationships in high school plays (Dick Black (Poisson)/Chris Craddock (Bulova)).
Come hear why there is so much optimism for our election this fall. Take your chance to meet our candidates, hear their vision for Virginia's future, and ask them how their campaigns are going and what their chances look like this Fall.
Meeting attendees will also receive a package regarding each of the candidates.
Please bring your checkbook so our candidates can get the kind of support that we need to win this fall!
