This year brings an unprecedented opportunity for the Democratic Party to recapture the Virginia Senate and according to some prognosticators, the House of Delegates.  It will take four seats to recapture the Senate and eleven seats to recapture the House and Northern Virginia is ground zero.

In August, the NVDBC PAC Board requested information from 18 campaigns within its defined territory and made initial contribution decisions to make an immediate impact by contributing $6,750 to the following races which were determined to be funding priorities:

In 2005, we brought you 4 Daves, a Chuck, and a Greg and the Democratic challengers went 4-1 in those races (click here to remember when...).  This year, we have invited the following candidates to speak at our October meeting and tell us about their race next month before we make final funding decisions.

As of today, the NVDBC PAC has approximately $7,000 left to distribute between 10 candidates.  The NVDBC PAC decided to create two tiers - a $900.00 tier and a $500 tier.  Each candidate will get 5 minutes to address the membership and then we will vote.  If a candidate does not attend, they will be removed from the above list.  All attending members whose dues are current by vote will get to cast three votes.  All other paid breakfast attendees get one vote.  At the end of the meeting, we will total up the votes and the NVDBC PAC Board will determine the contributions after the vote of the membership.

This is your chance to speak!  Join the NVDBC or if you have been a member, pay your dues, attend the breakfast and join the fun while we see our future Democratic leaders!
