Please join the NVDBC for
our breakfast on Friday, October 10 to
hear about Senator Obama's plans for the U.S.
economy. We'll hear from Obama
surrogate Jason Bordoff, who is
Policy Director of the Hamilton Project*, an
economic policy initiative housed at The
Brookings Institution committed to promoting
more broadly shared prosperity.
The Hamilton Project was started in 2006
by former Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and
Lawrence Summers. The Obama campaign's
top economic policy expert, Jason Furman, also
headed the Hamilton Project until
recently.
Jason has written on a broad range of
economic policy matters, particularly income
security and inequality, tax policy and climate
change. Jason is also a term member of the
Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the
board of the Association of Marshall Scholars.
He is a member of the New York and Washington
D.C. Bar Associations. He previously
served as special assistant to Deputy Secretary
Stuart E. Eizenstat at the U.S. Treasury
Department, and worked as a consultant for
McKinsey & Co. in New York. He graduated
with honors from Harvard Law School, where he
was treasurer and an editor of the Harvard Law
Review, and clerked on the U.S. Court of
Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Healso holds an
MLitt degree from Oxford University, where he
studied as a Marshall Scholar, and a BA magna
cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Brown
University.
